Havering Athletics Club

The XC season has started well. Good results in 1st 2 rounds of Essex League. 1st round- team wins for senior and veteran men and U15 boys. Individual wins for Alex Ford U15 boys and Kate O'Neil U17/U20 women. Round 2 saw team wins for senior men, senior women and U15 girls. An individual win for Matthew Blacklock U15 boys. Havering top the league tables in the senior men, U15 girls and U15 boys, with 3 rounds left.   There have been recent international vests for Jessica Mitchell (England U20s XC), Rob Warner (England M35 category XC) and Sam Sanusi (English Schools U15s Indoor pentathlon).   

Kieran O'Hara (19) and Rebecca O'Rourke (14) have been added to the British Athletics Paralympic Development Academy for 2018-19 for athletes recognised as having future potential to reach the Paralympic Games. This involves attendance at three technical event training camps which aim to accelerate athletes development and provide opportunities to identify personal areas for development. Kieran and Rebecca compete in class T20 for athletes with intellectual impairments.

Havering 90 Joggers/Parkrun

Have given 2 Marathon places to 2 first timers. XC League started Sunday. A meeting was attended regarding the half Marathon due to be held in Havering in October 2019.
